As the temperatures start to climb, be safe in how and when you train. Run in the coolest part of the day, early morning. Make sure you are hydrating before, during and after your run. If you sweat a lot, be sure to replace electrolytes with a sports drink or similar supplement. Run in the shade whenever possible. Why not hit some of our beautiful trails? Slow down! Temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit will affect your pace due to the additional demands placed on your body to stay cool.

Redefine Fitness Training Groups will start back in September. Stay tuned for opportunities to train for a 5k, 10k, relay marathon and half marathon! In the meantime, check out the training groups offered this summer through Gulf Winds Track Club.
